On the 15th of October many chess amateurs from Varese region (Northern Italy) enjoyed a very interesting chess event. Under the bright autumn sun on the central San Giovanni Square of a small city of Busto Arsizio, IM Fabio Bellini current number one in on the national Italian ranking, who is living in Busto Arsizio, and WGM Elena Sedina current number one in the female Italian ranking played a simultaneous exhibition against ten people each.

Fabio was smarter than Elena and beat all his opponents in one hour. But almost all the best club players preferred to play Elena! That's why she had to work much harder finally winning nine games and making one draw.

After the simultaneous exhibition Elena and Fabio, with a lot of spectators around, played a short blitz match which ended in 1-1.

This event, dedicated to the promotion of chess, was organized thanks to the sponsorship of the Municipality of Busto Arsizio and technical assistance of the Gallarate Chess Club.
